In this article, you will learn how to log in to J.P. Morgan Next on a web browser.

Log in on the mobile app

Enter credentials

  1. Open the Next app on your iOS or Android device

  2. Enter your email address and password

  3. Tap the Log In button

  4. If you need to reset your password, tap the Forgot password? link

If you successfully log in and do not need to enable multi-factor authentication, the Next app opens on your mobile device. Otherwise, follow the Multi-factor Authentication and Device Verifications steps below.

Enable Multi-factor Authentication (MFA)

If you are logging into Next for the first time or your MFA has been reset, you need to select an MFA registration option.

  • To select text message registration, select the Text message option.

  • To select authentication app registration, select the Authenticator app option.

Text message registration

Text message registration allows you to receive a code to your mobile phone that you can use to log in to Next. If you selected text message registration, complete the following steps:

  1. Enter the location and phone number to use for text message verification

    • Note: To avoid setup errors, do not enter a “1” before your phone number.

  2. View your cell phone for a text message with a six-digit verification code

  3. Enter the code in the Verification Code field

  4. If you did not receive a code, tap Resend Code

  5. Tap Next

Authentication app registration

Authentication apps allow you to use your mobile device as a second level of authentication in addition to your password. Some examples of authentication apps are Google Authenticator and Microsoft Authenticator. You can download one of these apps to your device, link the app to your Next account, and then retrieve a unique code from the app whenever you need to log in.

If you selected authentication app registration, complete the following steps:

  1. Open your authentication app on your mobile device

  2. Navigate to the section of the app where you can add a new account

  3. Copy the authentication key and paste the key in your authenticator app

  4. Tap Next

  5. Enter the verification code from your authentication app in the Verification Code field

  6. Tap Verify

  7. You will see a confirmation if your MFA registration was successful.

Device verification

If you haven’t done so previously, you will also need to verify the device you are using.

  1. View the message that an email has been sent to the email address associated with your Next account

  2. On the same device and browser you are using to log in, open your email account

  3. In the email message, tap Verify Device

Note: If tapping the Verify Device button does not open the Next app, you can long press the Verify Device button and select the Copy Link option. Then paste the link in your browser, which will redirect you to the Next app.

Select device login option

You can also select an option to use when you log in to the Next app in the future. To create a PIN, tap the PIN option. To enable biometric verification, tap the Fingerprint or Face ID option.

Note: PINs that use four sequential numbers, repeat the same number four times, or form a line down the keypad are not allowed.
