This article details how to add a non-cardholder user to J.P. Morgan Next. If the user is a cardholder, they must be added through PaymentNet first. Their Next profile will be created automatically within 24 hours.
Once a user is created, you can control what they can do in Next by assigning different roles and permissions.
You can also remove users in Next. Before removing a user, make sure all their cards in PaymentNet are fully closed (not frozen). This change takes 24 hours to reflect in Next.
Note: Only Admins can add users to Next.
Add people individually from a web browser
To a create a non-cardholder user in Next from a web browser, follow these steps:
In the Navigation Menu, select the People link.
Select the Add Person button.
When the Add person window opens, fill out the person's information.
Note: An email is a unique field that can only be used once inside your company.Enter the user’s date-of-birth which is required for identity verification or leave this field blank and the user will be prompted to provide this information.
Under Permissions, select the role you would like to give the user: administrator, bookkeeper, or member.
Select the Send invite via email checkbox if you would like to send the person an invitation to log in. Sending an invitation allows a person to set their password and access their account.
Select the Add Person button to finalize the person creation process.
Add people in bulk from a web browser
To a create multiple non-cardholder users in Next from a web browser, follow these steps:
In the Navigation Menu, select the People link.
Select the Import People button.
Select the Download this CSV template link.
Using the CSV template, enter your people into the file:
Under Date of birth, enter the user’s birth date. You can use the following formats: mm/dd/yyyy, mm/dd/yy, and yyyy/mm/dd. If this information is not entered for the person, they will be prompted to provide this information on their next login.
Under Role, specify whether each person is an admin, bookkeeper, or member.
Under Send invite, specify whether each person should receive an invite to set their password and access Next once the CSV uploads (Yes/No).
The file must be in CSV format, have all required fields completed, and cannot contain more than 150 rows. Otherwise, an error will be presented.
5. Once ready, drag-and-drop or click select file to upload on the Upload CSV screen.
6. Review the accuracy of your bulk upload before proceeding.
7. Select the Import People button to finish the upload process.
8. You will receive an email confirmation of your bulk people upload. If any errors have occurred, you will receive a modified version of your CSV file with an additional errors column specifying the remaining issues.
Add people individually from the mobile app
To a create a non-cardholder user in Next from the mobile app, follow these steps:
In the Navigation Menu, tap the More icon.
Tap the People link.
From the People page, tap the Options icon.
Tap the Add Person link.
Enter the personal information for the new user, including their name, email address, phone number, and date of birth.
In the Role field, select the role permissions for the user. You can select admin, bookkeeper, or member.
To send the user an email invitation, tap the Send Invite toggle button. The email invitation will allow the user to create a password to access their account.
To save all details and create the new user, tap the Save link.
Remove people from a web browser
To delete a Next user, make sure all their cards in PaymentNet are fully closed (not frozen). This change takes 24 hours to reflect in Next. Once cards are fully closed, follow these steps:
In the Navigation Menu, select People
Select the user you want to remove
Select Options
Select Delete user
Note: Deleting the user removes their access to Next, but all their historical data will remain accessible in Next for at least seven years.
