Edit a user's details in J.P. Morgan Next

View steps for how admins can update the details of a user in their account.

Next User Type: Admin

As an admin, you can update a user's personal information, mailing address, and permissions, but not their date of birth. Contact J.P. Morgan Next servicing for help

Notes:

  • If you update a user's login email address, they need to verify that email address before it can be used. After you submit the updates, a verification link is sent to the new email address. The email verification link expires if not validated within 14 days


Edit a user's details from a web browser

  1. In the Next Navigation Menu, select People

  2. Select the person you want to update. To search for a user, enter the user's name in the Search field

  3. Select Options

  4. Select Edit person

  5. Edit the user's personal information.

    • To edit their profile picture, select Add photo or Edit

    • To edit a user's name, enter your changes in the Name fields

    • Your changes automatically display in the Name displayed on cards section

    • You can also edit a user's email address and phone number

  6. If a date of birth has not been added, you can add a date in the Date of Birth field

  7. In the Company settings section, you can edit the user's role and permissions:

    • In the Role drop-down menu, you can select a role of Admin, Bookkeeper, or Member for the user

      • If the user has a bookkeeper role, you can manage additional permissions of editing transaction settings and making credit payments

      • From the Manager drop-down menu, you can assign a manager to the user

      • From the Department drop-down menu, you can assign a department to the user

      • From the Location drop-down menu, you can assign a location to the user

    • To add users who can view transactions, submit receipts, and complete transaction details for the user, select Add assistants

  8. In the Physical card mailing address section, you can edit the physical mailing address where physical cards are sent

    • Note: You cannot edit your physical mailing address in J.P Morgan Next, formerly Spend Center.

  9. To save your changes, select Update person


Edit a user's details from the mobile app

  1. In the Navigation Menu, tap More

  2. Tap People

  3. Tap the user you want to edit

    • Note: To find a user, enter the user's name in the Search field

  4. Tap the Options icon (three dots in the top right of the screen).

  5. Tap Edit person

  6. In the Personal information section, you can edit a user's name, email, and phone number

  7. If a date of birth has not been added, you can add a date in the Date of Birth field.

    • Note: You cannot edit the date of birth after it has been entered.

  8. To assign a manager to the user, tap the Manager field

  9. To add users who can view transactions, submit receipts, and complete transaction details for the user, tap Assistants

  10. To designate a user as an Admin, Bookkeeper, or Member, tap the Role field

  11. If the user has a Bookkeeper role, you can manage additional permissions by tapping the Additional Permissions field

    • To manage additional bookkeeper permissions, tap Edit transactions settings or Make credit payments

    • Selected permissions display the Checkmark icon

    • To return to the Edit Person screen, tap Done

  12. To use the company's mailing address for physical card orders, tap Use Company's Mailing Address

  13. You can also enter a unique address for physical card orders by using the Address fields

  14. To save your changes, tap Save
